It may feel like Devin Booker was just drafted yesterday, but the superstar shooting guard is quietly climbing up the ranks of longest tenured players with one team — the likes of Steph Curry, Giannis and Embiid are on a short list of hoopers who have stuck with their squad longer. During his nearly ten seasons in the desert, Booker has obviously picked up emotional ties to the state of Arizona, now planning on hashing out some of his favorites with the latest edition for his signature shoe, the Book 1 “Sedona.”
Taking its name from the desert town known for its red rock formations, the Book 1 “Sedona” relies heavily on those trademark geological features, of course pulling its rosy palette from that source. The stitched print on top of the upper stems from topological maps a mainstay in navigating the natural wonders of the area, while the striped “candy cane” design underfoot harkens to the tiered deposit structure of the red rock formations.
A final flourish comes on the tongue tag, hitting on an Oregon Trail sort of atmosphere with a picturesque tongue tag that clearly executes the guiding light for this design. For those who have been tapped into the Book 1 throughout its “rookie year,” note that the heel tab is still absent from this pair, bucking its reintroduction on shoes like the Book 1 “Nightmare Before Christmas.”
The Nike Book 1 “Sedona” has been queued up at Foot Locker for a January 1st release, but don’t be shocked if this pair moves off that (potentially tentative) date. Keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates page for further updates and official images once they come about.
Elsewhere on the slate, another major Swoosh player returns to his roots via the Travis Scott Jordan 1 Low “Velvet Brown.”
