Andrew Rizzo Nike is competing with the adidas Samba and other trending models tied to soccer by transforming the beloved Total 90 III boot into a lifestyle shoe. Nike unveiled upcoming colorways in its last two SNKRS product previews, and now we’re finally hearing of some release dates. The “Metallic Silver” colorway will be available on March 1st, with a range of additional styles poised to roll out throughout the rest of 2025.
Football fanatics have been eagerly anticipating the Total 90 III since Nike announced its return in June 2024. The cleat debuted in 2004 and quickly became one of the most recognizable styles of its era, largely thanks to the encircled “90” on the medial side. Stars like Wayne Rooney, Luis Figo, and longtime Nike signee Ronaldinho made the Total 90 III their own, thus ensuring its spot in soccer and footwear history hasn’t been lost in time.
The “Metallic Silver” colorway kicks off the model’s resurgence on March 1st, with yellow/green (shoutout Brazil), bordeaux, and black patent leather editions following later on. As far as the construction goes, the model stands out with quilted stitching and diagonal lacing in the absence of a traditional tongue. Moving underfoot, rubber spikes are replaced by a new outsole featuring herringbone tread and two large circles.
