Matt Varga Nike’s running roster can go toe-to-toe with anyone. Much of its entrants are molded in the shape of the Alphafly and ZoomFly series, yet even within those confines, the Nike Streakfly has offered something a bit different, bucking the marathon-length models in order to offer up a silhouette for shorter distances. After nearly three years on shelves, a sequel is now finally emerging via the Nike StreakFly 2.
For this second effort, the low-profile model is pushed closer to its peers, still sporting top-of-the-line ZoomX foam while swapping to a full-length carbon fiber Flyplate, a divergence from the Pebax counterpart that marked the predecessor. Those tech upgrades come despite a major reduction in weight, dropping down nearly 25% from the original Streakfly to around 144 grams.
In much the same way as the Vaporfly 4, sharing press space with the silhouette at hand, the Streakfly 2 will take to the white and orange “Prototype” colorway, though additional looks are expected to come alongside that pair’s market debut. The Nike Streakfly 2 will release on Nike.com and via partnering retailers on March 1st, retailing for $160.
