Nike is continuing its mini Spiridon resurgence by adding a new takedown model to the famous Y2K-era running series. Saddled with an agreeable price tag of $120, this inaugural colorway traces all the way back to 1997 with original “Metallic Silver” makeup.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Nike has iterated on Christian Tresser’s original design. As a supplement to the last true Spiridon retro run, Nike debuted a spinoff model called the Spiridon Ultra in 2017, epitomizing a time when the brand was steadily touching down with sleeker versions of longstanding classics (see the Air Max 95 Ultra).
This new Spiridon takedown shares one notable quality with the Ultra, that being a smooth layer of synthetic material across the mudguard. Strips of “Metallic Silver” piping are more aligned with the original model, and the upper features a layer of enclosed, semi-clear synthetic material as opposed to open mesh.
Nike has yet to announce a release date for this “Metallic Silver” colorway, but we’re expecting a Summer 2025 arrival. As mentioned, Sneaker News can report a retail price of $120 in adult sizes. See official images below if you’re considering copping.
