The Nike ACG Mountain Fly Takes To “College Grey” For Summer

The "OG" model might be overtaking its sequel.

The Nike ACG Mountain Fly Takes To “College Grey” For Summer

Quietly, the era of the Nike ACG Mountain Fly 2 may be over. With the model precipitously slowing down waves of new colorways and its predecessor returning to shelves, Nike appears to be returning to the original winning formula. Given its success in its run on the shelves, it’s hard to argue, and embracing outdoorsy looks is a surefire way to tap back into that DNA. As we begin to reacquaint ourselves with the silhouette, the Nike ACG Mountain Fly is taking on “College Grey.”

Heralded for both pushing the sub-brand while still maintaining the utilitarian design language of its forebears, the Mountain Fly essentially accomplishes the same thing aesthetically with this edition. Neutral tones of “College Grey” and gum brown underfoot meet the outdoors mission statement of the shoe, while pops of “Smokey Blue” and “Siren Red” on the cable closures, branding hits and rear pull tabs speak to that off-kilter note that ACG offerings are always able to hit. Though cut down for warm weather applications, the GORE-Tex fabric and grippy traction underfoot ensure the same performance tech the Mountain Fly delivered in its first go-around.

The Nike ACG Mountain Fly “College Grey” should be hitting Nike.com and retailer shelves in the coming months. Be prepared for a $180 retail price once this pair lands, and keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates page to be the first to know when it does.
