Textured Suede Makes A Surprise Appearance On The Nike Shox R4

A material shift for the Y2K staple.

Textured Suede Makes A Surprise Appearance On The Nike Shox R4

We’ve spilled plenty of ink on the Nike Shox R4 and its ilk, slowly shifting from a surprising retro line in Beaverton to a well-accepted arm of the mainline. However, even as the R4, TL, and Ride 2 have begun to spread their wings as they’ve got more comfortable, there’s still plenty of meat on the bone to mint unexpected editions. One is elucidated well by the shoe at hand, as the Nike Shox R4 builds up an entirely novel suede edition.

Indeed, the usual hardened siding of the model shifts instead to a far softer counterpart with this edition, still sporting its molded composition through short haired suede. Given that this look diverges so far from its sporty origins, it’s only natural that the Shox R4 also takes on more neutrally-toned hues, almost entirely draped in white and off-white outside of slight black trim outlining the Swoosh, defining the spring propulsion underfoot, and coating several branding hits.

The Nike Shox R4 “Black/White” in suede should be landing on Nike.com in the coming weeks, retailing for $150 in women’s sizing. Check the galleries ahead for official images.
