Journal Standard Goes Tonal On Their Exclusive adidas Gazelle Indoor

adidas is far from the only brand to take advantage of the retailer exclusive colorway — most major players have at least some history in taking advantage of that third category between mainline and collab edition. However, it’s rare that we see a company tread so far from their headquarters in doing so, as the Three Stripes is doing some serious globetrotting to execute the Journal Standard exclusive adidas Gazelle Indoor.

Linking up with the Japanese retailer results in a striking yet subtle edition of the lifestyle classic, entirely engulfed by neutral tonality from heel to toe. Within those bounds, there is a bit of distinction between the shades used: the upper suede carries “Charcoal,” the Three Stripes branding hits “Earth Strata,” and of course, the bottoms execute “Gum.” However, the comprehensive profile remains all the same, a tangible manifestation of the new aesthetic territory that Journal Standard brings the shoe into. Put more straightforwardly, adidas isn’t usually one to dabble in “Triple” anything, so this colorway carries a bit of an elevated air compared to what usually stocks the shelves.

The Journal Standard adidas Gazelle Indoor is available for pre-order via the Japanese sites like baycrews.jp. Given that official adidas images of the shoe have surfaced, however, a wider global launch may still be in the cards. Keep our Sneaker Release Dates page close by for more updates.
