Sneaker News Nike has officially unveiled the Ja 3 signature shoe, Ja Morant’s third model with Nike. The shoes will debut in this “Max Volume” colorway on the Memphis superstar during Game 1 of the Grizzlies/Thunder series scheduled for Sunday, April 20th.
Featuring a “scratch” design concept that has been part of the Nike Ja shoe journey since day one, the newest Ja Morant shoes feature its boldest Swoosh branding as it it sits in reverse fashion just by the middle of the midsole. The midsole package is a composite comprised of full length ZoomX foam layered over ZoomX scrap providing responsiveness and comfort for all levels of explosiveness.
“I told the Nike design team I needed something that talks before I even lace it up. I wanted my third signature shoe to feel like my game and my personality. I told them, ‘Don’t be scared. Push it. Make it rugged, make it different.’ And they ran with it,” said Ja Morant.
The claw mark detail first debuted on the Nike Ja 1 “Scratch” colorway in Memphis Grizzlies colors and has since become a regular sight with his Player Exclusives. For the Ja 3, it becomes the core concept of the look as exterior TPU overlays emanate the torn and shredded appearance.
The Nike Ja 3 is set to release this Fall 2025, with a tentative release date expected on August 15th, 2025.
