The Nike ST Flare Follows In The Air Yeezy 2’s Footsteps

An unexpected appearance from the collector's pieces.

The Nike ST Flare Follows In The Air Yeezy 2’s Footsteps

The history of Nike Yeezy is absolutely a complicated one in the wake of their acrimonious break-up and Ye’s subsequent persona non grata status in mainstream footwear. However knotted the issue may be now, there’s no way to erase how influential some of Mr. West’s color schemes became. The “Blink” colorway in particular rose to a level of true inescapability in the 2010s, spread onto models that had nothing to do with the “Graduation” rapper from the SB Dunk High to the Foamposite to the Roshe Run.

Some sixteen years after the Yeezy 1 entered the zeitgeist, we’re still seeing aftershocks of its original two looks. The Nike ST Flare, an outdoor basketball silhouette exclusive to the Chinese market, just surfaced with its own two-pack emulating those holy grails. While neon green soles may be missing on these alternating colorways, the red collars are the biggest giveaway to the musical inspirations at work with these shoes, sporting some serendipitous resemblance to the Yeezy 2 in the various textures utilized on their uppers.

Again, as a silhouette exclusive to China, our stateside readership will have to resort to secondary market means to grab their pair. For those able to grab at retail or simply as a reference point, the MSRP for the ST Flare hovers around $90. Either way, you can catch official images included below.
