'90s heads rejoice.

The Nike Air Trainer Huarache Drums On With The Return Of “Cool Blue”

Often it’s easy to trace the rhythms of Nike’s various bring-back efforts. Take the one played out with the LD-1000 in 2024 — there was little separation between its Stussy collaborative intro and a run of inline pairs. The Nike Air Trainer Huarache has taken a more languid cadence, however. While it nabbed an extremely high-profile moment with the help of Clint419 and his Corteiz label, it’s taken a number of months to hit the catalog in earnest, but the return of the Air Trainer Huarache should assuage those delays with sheer star power.

Indeed, the OG “Cool Blue” Nike Air Trainer Huarache formulation from the 1990s returns to the shelves, already a colorway that’s paced previous comebacks. While we’ve seen Beaverton pay special attention to original specs all year, the Air Trainer Huarache doesn’t need much remodeling to achieve that, wearing the same hardware specs that it did in the ’90s and its most recent retro in 2015. That retro sportstyle design language comes in spades, meeting the titularly toned patches at the edges with a classic white and black formulation between, including painting the midfoot strap and coating the exterior of the ineffable inner bootie.

While retailer images have started to touch down, the Nike Air Trainer Huarache “Cool Blue” isn’t expected in earnest until September 2025. Once landed, be ready for a $140 retail price. For more novel fare out of Beaverton, we’ve stayed locked in to the debut of two new Nike Basketball faces, the Ja 3 and Sabrina 3, as their debuts near and fresh colorways have hit the newswire.
