The Nike Air Max 1000 Releases Today

Nike today takes its biggest leap yet into the world of 3D-printed footwear. The Nike Air Max 1000, a new thermoplastic polyurethane version of the Air Max 1 created in partnership with Zellerfeld, releases August 19th in two colorways. The “Oat” drops through a 10-minute SNKRS draw, while the black colorway, limited to just 300 units, releases exclusively through zellerfeld.com. Both colorways retail for $180 and drop at 1:00 PM EST via their respective channels. Keep scrolling to learn more about this boundary-breaking release.

Taking inspiration from an icon, the Air Max 1000 re-imagines Tinker Hatfield’s Air Max 1 with an almost entirely 3D-printed construction. The only exception is an Air unit in the heel, an element that adds some welcome firmness to an otherwise flexible, cushy shoe. The Air Max 1000 first came into the public eye at ComplexCon in 2024, releasing in super limited quantities. Nike’s first collaboration with German 3D-printed footwear brand Zellerfeld released earlier that year – a Dunk Low by virtual sneaker and NFT project RTFKT (which has since ceased operations).

Again, the Air Max 1000 arrives August 19th in “Oat” and black colorways. Scroll up for full release details.
