The Nike ACG Ultrafly Trail Super-Shoe Went Through Over 30,000 Miles Of Testing

Running is a year-round, all-ground activity in Oregon. Fresh off the Hood To Coast Relay wrapping this weekend where thousands of runners logged in approximately a quarter million miles, Nike is elevating its runner’s high with the official unveiling of the ACG Ultrafly.

Touted as a “super-shoe” in the trail running category, the Nike ACG Ultrafly is the first sneaker product to be born out of the Nike All Conditions Racing Department, an emerging initiative dedicated to creating the best performance gear for those who tackle the wild. The ACG Ultrafly wasn’t exactly the best kept secret as prototypes have been spotted in the wild for months, specifically on Caleb Olsen–one of twenty-two members of the All Conditions Racing Department’s elite roster.

Here’s what the ACG Ultrafly is working with: ZoomX foam for the perfect responsiveness, a carbon fiber FlyPlate with a split at the heel to flexion over rocks and twig, and a Vibram Litebase outsole for supreme grippy capability. Up top is a newly designed upper with textured curves and lines mimicking a topographic map, while an oversized Swoosh logo dips into the midsole a la the Vaporfly/Alphafly running series. A release is expected this Spring 2026 season.
