Everything You Need To Know About The Nike LeBron 23 “Uncharted”

The Nike LeBron 23 “Uncharted” is inspired by LeBron becoming the first player in NBA history to reach 40,000 career points. The shoes are confirmed to launch on October 3rd, 2025 in adult ($210) and GS ($160) sizes. Continue reading for a full breakdown.

There’s nothing left for LeBron James to prove. Celebrating the launch of his twenty-third signature shoe while still actively playing (at an All-NBA level, no less) is enough for him. His longevity is a true testament to LeBron being born to ball, and as we embark on Season 23, we can only imagine what else he’ll add to his insanely crowded mantle of accomplishments.

The Nike LeBron 23 has been recently teased on-feet of the King himself; in what has become something of a tradition, LeBron himself debuted his next signature shoe during his pre-pre-season workouts, unleashing the kicks to the viewing world in an all-black colorway. While we all appreciate a Triple Black option, the LeBron 23 colorways will hardly be anything monochromatic or one-dimensional.

Official images of the “40K” colorway have been revealed; exuding elegance and excellence, this colorway is a clear nod to LeBron becoming the first player in NBA history to reach 40,000 career points — a legacy-defining moment he achieved in 2024. This colorway is covered in an iridescent gold that covers the crown-shaped midsole that despite its breathtaking design, serves a functional purpose as a foot containment system.

Additionally, an ornate pattern typical of regal palaces and garb joins the upper, creating something more of a museum piece than a on-court hardware. “40K” in currency-like type appears on the heel, while the shoes come packaged in one of the most elevated for-retail shoebox we’ve ever seen with the Nike LeBron program.

Who Designed The Nike LeBron 23?

Nike typically designs new product as a group effort; there is no one single individual that handles the design as it is a collaborative effort between the design, engineering, and marketing team. The primary designer is Jason Petrie; he has been the head designer for the Nike LeBron series since the Nike LeBron 7 in 2009. The larger LeBron team at Nike consists of Ross Klein, Senior Director, Men’s Basketball Footwear Product Design, Wil Green, Senior Director, Basketball Apparel, and more.
