Soon, the Nike Shox R4 may have competition, or at least a genuine peer, in its Y2K approach. A “kitten heel” offshoot in the Shox Z will give consumers the option to slim down the rear propulsion of the archival line in due order, but in the meantime, its original attendees have plenty of room to spread their wings.

Among several experimental developments in the silhouette’s recent run, suede has really gained steam, a counterpunch to the sleek aesthetics most usually associated with aughts-inspired footwear. While that still shines through a bit in the actual Shox unit for this pair, this Nike Shox R4 majors in a cooler, calmer side of the color wheel, utilizing sky blue down the midline and on the toe cap and unwrapping rich navy waves on its fresh material.

As a GR product, the Nike Shox R4 “Celestine Blue” doesn’t carry a firm drop date, instead likely to hit Nike.com and partnering retailers in the near future.
