Andrew Rizzo The Air Max Dn has predictably cooled off since the Air Max DN8 arrived earlier this year, but the former Air Max Day model is still clearly an important part of Nike’s planning. After playing a leading role in the debut Nike x LEGO drop, the Dn is back in the spotlight by way of an all-new weatherized spinoff called the Air Max Dn Roam.
As our regular readers are already aware, the Roam surname debuted via the Vomero 5 Roam back in Fall 2024 (the Lunar Roam is something different entirely). Nike completely reimagined the Vomero 5 with a slew of rugged, winter-worthy enhancements, including a new sole unit and protective upper featuring ripstop material. The Air Max Dn is here made equally unrecognizable, but its weatherized upgraded are entirely different.
At its core, the Air Max Dn Roam features a sock-like interior akin to that of the Nike Huarache. Different swatches of synthetic material then comprise a protective, zippered shroud, including a smooth texture up top, protective detailing on the toe/sides. and what appears to be checkered ripstop just above the midsole. TPU accents on the midfoot and heel remain in-tact, although they don’t feature the same carbon fiber-esque interiors seen on the Air Max Dn proper. Underfoot, the outsole is upgraded with Nike’s patented Storm-Tread traction.
Three Air Max Dn Roam colorways have been uncovered as of this writing; “College Gray/Cannon/Black/Light Lemon Twist,” “Black/Cargo Khaki/Metallic Silver,” and “Black/Metallic Silver.” All are expected to release during the Holiday 2025 shopping season (between October-December) for $190.
