Jordan Enters Retro Runner Territory With The Trunner O/S

Given the shift to slip-on footwear, it was a natural play for Jordan Brand to pull the Trunner LX from the archives, re-stamping one of their first off-court models in an industry that’s suddenly amenable to its design cues. However, what we likely couldn’t have predicted was the Jumpman adding another member to the product family. Revealed to the world with the help of Jordan design team members themselves and Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, the Jordan Trunner O/S is a major factor in what the brand has planned for this Holiday season and beyond.

At a NYC product showcase, Jordan Brand revealed a slew of colorways for their fresh lifestyle face, some familiar to our readership and some genuinely never-before-seen. Given the silhouette functions as the Jumpman’s entrance into rampant “dad shoe” aesthetics, the flank of designs that play into neutral aesthetics shouldn’t be too much of a shock; a pre-aged Sail/Grey, “Cave Stone,” and ever-reliable all-black lean in that direction.

However, as always, Beaverton’s color team knows how to make a first impression. The same all-red that Hurts debuted highlights a far more vibrant half of what the Trunner O/S has in store; a black/pink is likely the most eye-catching beyond that, and variations in grey/blue/green and royal blue/brown see the silhouette thread the needle between full statement wear and everyday tones.

Outside of the color options on display, obviously showing off the tech and detail that go into the Trunner O/S are of import. The wrap-around TPU cages at the quarter sit as the central feature, but reflective-lined pull tabs and wide mesh layers showcase how the brand is stepping out of its comfort zone this one.

The Jordan Trunner O/S will start to roll out on October 1st with a $110 retail price; expect staggered drops in the months to follow. Almost all will be available  via the usual Nike.com/SNKRS channels, with the exception of the brown/blue and blue/grey/volt, which will be NBHD exclusives.
