Matt Varga It’s not boot season just yet, but with the far-ahead schedule that the footwear industry operates on, we’re already getting brands’ embraces of colder weather with time to spare. A suddenly dominant theme this year is takedown designs of competitors’ work, well demonstrated by the adidas Uggs (as they’re colloquially known), AKA the adidas Campus 00s Winter.
Though that silhouette is the most eyebrow-raising design we’ve caught this season, Nike has a long history of homage (or imitation, if you take a more cynical viewpoint) to a particular lane of Fall/Winter wear. The “Wheat” tonality that Timberland has long majored in has already spread onto shoes like the Air Force 1, but as it dawns on the Air Jordan 1 High Brooklyn, the resemblance is truly uncanny.
Retrofitted with two-tone boot laces and suede uppers, the lugged traction that sets this model apart from parent Air Jordan 1 releases makes the comparisons all the more solid. In truth, the brighter edition is closer to a Hazelnut than earnest Wheat, but these are just as ready to slip into the rotation as conditions make regular sneakers untenable. If you’d prefer to go even duskier, the Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn High also has a “Baroque Brown” edition in store, delivering more traditional lacing and a comprehensive palette along with its shift in primary shading.
The Air Jordan 1 High Brooklyn in the two colorways featured here should hit Nike.com as a part of the Holiday 2025 slate. Women’s sizing and a $165 sticker price are in place for either.
