Anthony Davis Reveals Nike LeBron 23 “Triple Black”

But will it release?

Anthony Davis Reveals Nike LeBron 23 “Triple Black”

Anthony Davis may no longer be able to call LeBron James his teammate, but his friendship – or rather, brotherhood – with the NBA’s all-time scoring leader remains as strong as ever. The Dallas Mavericks recently posted a picture of AD, Cooper Flagg, Max Christie, and pro golfer Jordan Spieth on Instagram, in which The Brow can be spotted rocking a never-before-seen “Triple Black” colorway of the Nike LeBron 23.

As we covered in our Nike LeBron 23 feature, the silhouette will release in 23 different styles inspired by 23 moments from LeBron’s unrivaled basketball career. As of this writing, it remains to be seen if this “Triple Black” pair is included in that series. However, given the elaborate storytelling behind pairs like the “Uncharted” and “Miami Twice” LeBron 23, it’s more likely this sneaker falls outside the lineup. The design appears closer to the all-black LeBron 23 that surfaced back in July, which afforded us our first look at the model.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James played together for five years with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning a championship in their first season (2019–20) during the infamous COVID-19 bubble era. Throughout his Lakers tenure, Davis wore LeBron’s signature shoes almost exclusively, even continuing to rock the LeBron 22 after the league-shaking in-season trade that sent him to Dallas for Luka Dončić. So, even though they no longer share the floor at Crypto.com Arena, it makes sense that AD would be the one to receive special love from The King when it comes to his signature sneakers.

Given the market’s ongoing love for all-black footwear across all genres (see the “Black Cat” Jordan 4), the “Triple Black” LeBron 23 is a pair many hoopers would be eager to see hit shelves. We’ll keep our Sneaker Release Dates page updated with all available info if/when the sneakers are confirmed to drop. As of this writing, no official announcement has been made.
