Matt Varga Jordan Brand’s monumental 2025 has stopped off in some relatively obvious stations, be it the impending modern classic Jordan 4 “Black Cat,” the return of the Air Jordan 1 “Bred,” or a sprawling Air Jordan 11 collection. However, even the more underrated commodities within the numbered Retro set have received love. The Air Jordan 10 “Steel,” bringing the toe cap back to the forefront of the sneaker world, now gains another partner this year, as first looks at November’s Air Jordan 10 “Shadow” have surfaced.
Though missing that divisive toe cap detail, this shoe reintroduces an OG all the same, one of three to land in ’94 along with the “Steel” and “Powder Blue.” Even if the Air Jordan 10 doesn’t get the same shine as some of its older siblings, the Jumpman has dipped into the “Shadow” well before, most faithfully with the edition at hand and a previous 2018 pair. Additionally, a modified version of the shoe dropped in 2008 as part of the vaunted “Countdown Pack,” bearing brighter whites on its checkerboard liner and a “23” stamp on the lateral collar, referencing the PE touch that Jordan’s pairs carried in the model’s initial run.
All that said, this version keeps with Jordan Brand’s OG motivations that’ve been constant throughout 2025, keeping to the sleek, stealthy blend of grey suede, black leather, and rubber, and a flare of bright red branding on the rear. For those who are truly detail-oriented, you’ll also enjoy the packaging that comes with this release, harkening to the shoe box that came with the first run of Air Jordan 1 retro releases in 1994.
