Simply put, if you’re looking to add some winter options to your rotation without sacrificing your New Balance favorites in the process, you’ve got a wealth of options. The New Balance 1906R has adopted Primaloft, the New Balance 1000 has taken to Cordura, and building as the most populous of that group, the New Balance 2002R continues to champion GORE-Tex fabrics.

Now following two all-black pairs that’ve hit the newswire in 2025, the New balance 2002R maintains the same GORE-Tex underpinnings within nubuck panels build for harsher climates. Aesthetically, though no one would venture to call these a “vibrant” pair of kicks, it does mark the most colorful of the crowd to surface to date. An everlasting combo, grey brackets navy hits within the sole unit and on the quarter panel, altogether befitting chillier weather but nonehteless a stylish shoe all the same.

The New Balance 2002R GORE-Tex “Magnet” should be touching down as a part of NB’s Holiday offerings. Prepare for a premium MSRP over the usual $145 sticker price.
