Another two-pack on the horizon?

Daniel Buezo Of Kids Of Immigrants Reveals A New Nike Air Max Sunder

“Modern classic” is a term that holds a ton of weight, but even if you don’t assign that exact designation, the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder is undoubtedly among the more transformative and overall best-received Nike collaborations of 2024. Following a Daniel Buezo-approved appearance of a third colorway towards the top of 2025, a fourth edition now joins the mix as the already storied KoI x Nike story flirts with another chapter.

An all-too-common issue in parsing these sorts of teaser shots, the label founder’s widened outfit choice makes decoding the shoe’s overall appearance that one step harder. However, a top-down image confirms the straightened synthetic overlays on the sidewalls, harkening to the globes on phone cards of the 2000s, likely indicating that the main innovation is the color choice. There, it’s a significant step away from the vibrant fare of the three variations seen so far, leaning on the “Bred” aesthetics that’ve served the Swoosh empire well for decades.

We can’t ignore the setting in which this new Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder debuted, either. Daniel Buezo pulled this unreleased pair out of the closet for an appearance at the ongoing Virgil Abloh Archives exhibition in Paris, already a venue where we’ve caught looks at plenty of unreleased heat, from the Virgil Abloh Archives Air Force 1 to the Air Jordan 1 “Alaska” to the Off-White Tiempo.

As you’ll note if you reference that aforementioned third colorway, originally a “next step” in the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder story was tabbed for Summer 2025, a window that’s obviously come and gone. Details on a new expected launch and whether this red/black colorway will be included are largely opaque for the moment — we’ll keep you updated with the latest via this page and our Sneaker Release Dates hub.
