Matt Varga Though scores of his anthems could plausibly take the title, T-Pain’s work on Flo Rida’s club standard “Low” may be his most iconic. One of an absurd three #1 singles he helped craft in 2007, the mega-hit helped legitimize his signature Auto-Tune stylings and canonized the combination of “apple bottom jeans” and “boots with the fur” in the minds of so many. Still an A-lister in his own right, he’s headed from the Southeast to Colorado to revisit the concept, lending star power to Crocs’ upcoming “Boots With The Fur.”
In a social media spot promoting this upcoming mashup style, T-Pain is quite literally in the lab, evoking the Powerpuff Girls’ Professor by blending Jibbitz and pom-poms before the mixture explodes into the pair featured here. And what exactly is that? Earnestly titled the Crocs “Unfurgettable” Boot, the style extends knee-high additions onto the Classic Clog, maintaining its synthetic platform and even keeping the sports strap intact, albeit not a functional piece in this shoe, and mostly one that’s just for show.
While harkening to the mid-2000s smash would be Y2K energy enough for most, Crocs doesn’t spare a single detail in that regard, further utilizing leopard prints atop its fur composition and housing several spots for Myspace-style charms. Of that Jibbitz set, chrome lips, bangled chains, and a variety of heart emblems stand out, but there’s unbelievable optionality included with this boot: 25 total accessories arrive with these knee highs.
At least judging from their site copy, the Crocs “Unfurgettable” Boot is just one piece of a wider collection of the same name. Conversely, this shoe isn’t actually a T-Pain collaboration, though the Tallahassee native’s stamp of approval in any capacity goes a long way here. If you’re aiming to grab a pair of the “boots with the fur,” they release on October 23rd in women’s sizing, retailing for $160.
