Tyrese Haliburton Reveals PUMA Hali 1 “Love & Basketball”

Hali the cinephile? You better believe it. The Indiana Pacers star took to IG stories today with a new PUMA Hali 1 style inspired by the 2000 romance movie Love & Basketball.

The jersey numbers of the film’s two protagonists, 22 for Quincy McCall and 32 for Monica Wright, appear on the right and left tongues, respectively. The connection is a natural one for several reasons, mainly because Crenshaw High School, a real school in Los Angeles where Love & Basketball partly takes place, actually wears blue and yellow basketball uniforms, aligning perfectly with the Indiana Pacers’ palette. Furthermore, in the movie, the jerseys worn by Quincy and Monica were sponsored by PUMA, fitting seamlessly with the school’s Cougars mascot.

As for the sneakers, the Hali 1 appears mostly in white with navy blue hits on the Big Cat logo and outsole. Flashes of yellow appear on the toe and heel, although the latter isn’t visible in this initial set of teaser images.

No release info for the PUMA Hali 1 “Love & Basketball” has been announced as of this writing. Know that our Sneaker Release Dates page will be kept current with all the latest available info.
