Without question, certain flanks of Nike devotees look to the Swoosh for fresh footwear and nothing more. However, higher up in the org chart, Beaverton has acknowledged that their business is driven by performance, an admission that’s resulted in the recentering of “sport” from their retail locations to their running catalog. In the latter category, a simplified delineation of their core offerings under Pegasus, Structure, and Vomero has been one of the more well-received moves, within which the Nike Vomero Premium plays an integral role.
Now becoming a steady part of the mainline fabric, the super-stacked model continues to issue new seasonal editions. This variation essentially capitalizes on the same logline as the “Black/Volt” pair from earlier this year, albeit in brighter fashion. Atop a sensible white/black colorway that’s been in Nike’s arsenal for as long as they’ve been in business, “Bright Crimson” adds two contrast stripes in the ultra-high sole. Moreover, they almost literally “bleed” through in that section, not stopping at tinting the Air Zoom units but additionally dying the slitted windows, allowing that energy to tangibly shine through. Aside from mirrored neon tones on the insoles and in select branding hits, the rest of the profile keeps to the profile we’ve come to expect, from the Uptempo-inspired Air spell-out at the quarter to the mini Swoosh on the lateral side.
