The Uptempo series will forever be tied to the one-and-only Scottie Pippen. It’s been documented that Nike saw the point-forward as the prototypical player for this new family of footwear engineered specifically for those who had the speed and agility of an elusive guard and the power and finesse of a forward; the result was one of the greatest Nike franchises in history.

The Air Max Uptempo was somewhat of a predecessor to the most famous Uptempo family member — the Air More Uptempo. This 1995-born version was still a beast in its own right, owning a full-length Air Max unit and a sharp upper that boasted the AIR text in a far more subdued manner on the lace eye-lets. The smaller Swoosh, which repeated just above the heel unit, was definitely of the times when Nike’s design edged towards more abstract branding, while the epic Uptempo emblem was placed on the heel.

This “Chicago Bulls” colorway is not an original, but rather a modern creation that surfaced more than half a decade ago.
