With respect to its competitors, Beaverton has been dominating the cleat game. Performance “Pearl” Foamposites dominated the Thanksgiving slate, the Kobe 6 “Grinch” hybrids were a smash before Christmas 2024, and Jalen Hurts constantly makes headlines with his on-field wear. Yet it’s not only the game’s highest-paid players that have access to this converted cache, as both Jordan Brand and Nike continue to push out cleat-ified versions of high heat efforts.

Marking a step forward in that program is the Air Jordan 11 in all black featured here. While it may not be the Hurts-worn conversions of the “Gamma” or “Concord,” the dawn of a true all-black is genuinely remarkable, once a holy grail for the silhouette’s devotees and something closest approximated by the “Cap and Gown.” Further, this colorway swerves from the typical lifestyle construction on a material level, drenching the model head to toe in the patent leather that’s been a hallmark of the model since its introduction. A silver Jumpman and stacked 23 branding mark the only visual divergence from that nocturnal layout, while the TD cleat platform that typically paces Jumpman gridiron offerings remains for this one.
