It’ll only be a few months before the forecast breaks enough for your rotation favorites to see the light of day again. However, that still leaves a sizable stretch of time where function likely trumps form. For years and years, Nike’s middle ground option between style and snow-readiness has been the Air Force 1 “Wheat,” and if you don’t have one in your closet, they’re adding another option to consider.

While the comprehensive “Wheat” treatment in the upper is immediately evident, its overall application is worthy of discussion, a blend between stable nubuck underpinnings and heavily textured leather above. Further, we see the dense embroidery last spotted in a previous trio branch onto this wintry edition, delivered with a grey and burgundy Swoosh and with throwback script on the heel. To close, a reliable blend of a white midsole and gum sole provides a fitting platform for this look.
