Even if you’d balk at that description, credit where credit is due; clearly, the Big Cat values his design touch and his cachet with the younger generation, not only supporting a signature line halfway to double digits, but also holding up two off-the-court models.
The PUMA LaFrance RNR is the most recent of the two, departing from the luxury and skate aesthetics of the LaFrance proper and instead touching on maximalist trail inspirations. To that end, the “Ice Coffee” edition on tap today might be the most earnest embrace of that to date, coated heel-to-toe in earthy coloring, delivered with a caramel-like exterior before touching chocolate brown down the midline. Of course, there’s no shortage of LaMelo branding within this calm arrangement, as his fashion label’s title runs down the lace-stay, his cross logo bisects the shoe at the front, and the packaging carries plenty of nods to the “LF” imprint.
