Nearly 30 Years Later, The Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Voltage” Is Finally Returning

It’s finally happening. After years of rumors, wishlists, and near-mythical status within the collector community, Nike is officially bringing back one of the most coveted Foamposites of all time: the Air Foamposite Pro “Voltage”.

For longtime fans of the silhouette, this is more than just another retro — it’s the return of an original. First introduced in 1997 as the debut colorway of the Foamposite Pro, the “Voltage” colorway has remained one of the most elusive and sought-after pairs in the model’s history. For many collectors, it’s been a true grail that’s lived more in memory and conversation than on shelves. Deadstock pairs are nearly impossible to come by due to age and degradation, and throughout the years, Nike has orbited this specific release while never actually coming close.

Now, nearly three decades later, we finally have an official first look at its long-awaited comeback. The design stays true to its roots, anchored by a stealthy black Foamposite shell that lets the accents do the talking. But there’s a noticeable shift. The “Voltage” hits appear greener than expected, drawing comparisons to the vibrant tones seen on the Air Max 95 “Neon,” rather than the more yellow-leaning finish of the original release.

For a sneaker that has hovered near the top of “most wanted” lists for years, this return is a long time coming and Foamposite fanatics will definitely scoop these up when they official release  on May 8th for $240. See a first look at official retailer images ahead and stay tuned for more looks.
