That additional sentimental tie has meant that Chapel Hill has seen some of the best player exclusive fare that the Jumpman has had to offer over the years, so as the Air Jordan 14 kicks off a spree of PEs, who could reasonably expect UNC to be left out?
First coming to light by way of Tar Heel alumnus and current Assistant Director of Video and Recruiting Jaelynn Murray, the Air Jordan 14 represents the team front and center, plastered in trademark light blue suede before dipping into greyscale carbon fiber flanges and a shining silver midfoot plate. As we first saw on Oklahoma’s colorway, the team stamp makes an impression here embedded into the triangular badge just below the collar.
Famously, general release pairs have already poured out odes to Mike’s school, with the “Black/University Blue” back in the mix earlier this year. A sample “Chambray” that makes the rounds every so often is the closest the color team has approached this edition, at least to our knowledge. Finally, this is likely just one of several collegiate AJ4’s we’ll see in the coming weeks. Back in 2025, identical material make-ups of the Air Jordan 4 became an inescapable story, taking over campuses from Marquette to Michigan.
