It’s now commonplace that the public will hear whispers of massive Nike and Jordan releases way, way ahead of time. Hell, even as we write this, the shape of Spring ’27 is already beginning to come into view; we’ve still two and a half seasons to work through for this year. Yet rarer is word coming from Nike themselves.

Looking back, perhaps we should’ve known how much of a priority the Nike Cryoshot franchise would be in 2026 when the Swoosh broke the ice with far-ahead previews of lifestyle-ready variations on the Nike Mercurial and Tiempo franchises. About a year later, we uncovered a stacked list of collaborators pegged to start the rollout in flashy fashion, something that’s now build to an undeniable plotline.

Perhaps lost in the mix is the Mercurial’s running mate: the Nike Cryoshot Tiempo Legend. As the series builds momentum, Sneaker News caught a preview of the gilded sneaker at Nike HQ. Based on the Tiempo Legend VII 10R Elite, one of several re-releases for the original Ronaldinho style from 2005, this pair sticks close to the “Touch of Gold” trim and quilte upper arrangement. Weighty embossing on the heel and R10 call-outs across both tongues only cement the historical air that defines this lifestyle re-issue.

The Cryoshot series as a whole begins rolling out on June 12th; firm details for the inline Tiempo Legend and Mercurial R9 haven’t been announced just yet.
