Ever since Nike reorganized its road running lineup into three main franchises (Pegasus, Vomero, and Structure) with three tiers (Icon, Plus, and Premium), we’ve been curious how often the latter two levels would be refreshed with new models. Now we might have a clue. The Nike Pegasus Plus, nearly two years removed from its debut, has a successor, and it differs from the original in almost every way possible.
The original Pegasus Plus has been one of the more overlooked members of its family, overshadowed by the Pegasus Premium on hype and performance and undercut by the Pegasus 41/42 on price and accessibility. That lack of traction appears to have motivated Nike to start from scratch.
Early images show a new shape comparable to recent Icon tier Pegasus models, noticeably more aggressive than its predecessor. The Flyknit material has been swapped for what appears to be engineered mesh, complete with a cage-like structure featuring hole cutouts on the sides. The biggest change comes underfoot, where a new ZoomX midsole with visible Air Zoom forefoot cushioning replaces the former model’s all-ZoomX setup.
All that being said, the model’s purpose remains unchanged, focused on delivering a springy, responsive ride. No official tech specs have been announced yet, but we’ll circle back with an update as soon as that changes. The new Nike Pegasus Plus is expected to debut in late 2026/early 2027, falling somewhere in the $150-$200 price range.
