Matt Varga The Nike Air Force 1 ’01 build, at long last, is coming back. The early aughts are often regarded as a true golden age for the Uptown, both for its range of cult classic colorways and for the hardware notes that so many fell in love with at formative moments in their sneaker collecting careers.
While we wait for the Steven Victor Air Force 1 series to drop off some of the first collab editions on the retro-focused composition, we’re getting signs of what’s in store on a more accessible level. Pairing with the recently revealed “Triple Black” is a two-tone version that comfortably fits into the classic simplistic style the silhouette has always championed. Burgundy “Dark Team Red” uppers and outsoles are bisected by white sole units and Swooshes, that brighter tonality allowing the modified branding to really shine.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low ’01 “Dark Team Red” should be coming to shelves in the next several months as the “new” silhouette begins to get its legs under it at retail. A $130 sticker price is likely.
