While still a year removed from its 25th anniversary, the Nike Air Max 97 has taken the new year as an opportunity to flex its creative muscles. Its latest proposition doesn’t indulge in sports or love inspired-themes, but instead a black and white color scheme complemented by contrasting rainbow stitching.
Mesh and synthetic leather make up the silhouette’s top-half, with the former material appearing closest to the tongue. Vamp overlays deliver an all-black look, but their blue, green, yellow, orange and red detailing contribute much-needed flair to the forthcoming take on Christian Tresser’s design. Laces, just as Air Max cushioning underfoot, deviate from the bold and dark in a white style that allows the aforementioned contrast stitching to revel in the spotlight that much more.
An official Nike.com release date is unknown, but this Air Max 97 is likely to launch before summer ends as part of a larger Nike Sportswear collection featuring multi-color accents. In the meantime, enjoy images of the shoes ahead.
Elsewhere under the Swoosh umbrella, 50 Off-White Dunks are set to launch in autumn.
