Although New Balance has been laser-focused on its Made In USA line, the Boston-based brand has spent notable effort on its Flimby, Cumbria, United Kingdom products throughout the last five months. In addition to celebrating the New Balance 991‘s 20th anniversary, the brand has launched its Made In UK New Balance 920 in a handful of compelling styles.
Following an unexpected, extremely-limited collaboration with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (yes, New York City’s MTA), the latest proposition indulges in various shades of brown as part of a “Desert” Pack. Premium suede and leather and breathable mesh come together on the forthcoming pair to deliver a medley of earth tones. Profile “N” logos and accompanying branding throughout the heel and tongue, however, revert to greyscale hues so-often associated with the North American company. Underfoot, sole units further dive into a white, grey and black aesthetic that both harkens back to New Balance shoes of yesteryear and allows the desert-inspired color palette to revel in the spotlight.
