Official Images Of The Pickled Pepper-Inspired Nike PG 5 “Pao Jiao”

Following a handful of impressive performances to tie the series against the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 2020-21 NBA Playoffs, Paul George has unveiled his Nike PG 5 in another pickled pepper (“pao jiao” (泡椒)) inspired ensemble.

A follow-up to August 2020’s PG 4 reimagined in a Sichuan hot sauce-style, the newly-surfaced pair indulges in a color palette featuring a light shade of green, white and rich red. Stitching on the lateral mid-foot panel takes after the shape of flames, alluding to the heat of the peppers printed on the shoe’s sock liners. Additionally, pepper embroidery on the medial heel work in-tandem with the swoosh logo on the lateral heel to recreate a green pepper’s texture. Lastly, the data-driven outsole boasts a mix of red and white, which is presented in an abstract application.
