Footwear brands have been looking towards outstanding film franchises of ancient times (and by ancient, we mean the 1990s) to bring out the inner child of today’s sneaker fanatic. Next up in this ongoing trend is Reebok’s partnership with Universal Brand Development and Jurassic Park, the timeless action/fantasy film that brought the most vicious dinosaurs from eons ago to present day. Inspired by the original 1993 film, Reebok applied the unforgettable look at feel of that flick onto its contemporary product line which includes classics and modern silos.
Reebok pulled out all stops in re-creating the original laboratory headquarters seen in the film, with each silhouette of this collection inspired by a distinctive set item that remains imprinted in the memories of 80s babies to this day. The Pump Omni Zone II is inspired by a Dilophosaurus hatchling, while the Alien Stomper’s all-black matches the protective gear worn by the InGen staff. Our personal favorites include the Instapump Fury inspired by the decal wrap of the Ford Explorer touring vehicle and Dennis Nedry’s Club C, which features his floral print shirt. The Club C Revenge, Classic Leather, and Zig Kinetica round out the remainder of the collection.
The entire Jurassic Park x Reebok footwear collection will be available beginning July 30th with prices ranging from $100 to $200; an accompanying apparel collection will also release on Reebok.com and select retailers.
