The tried-and-true nature of the BOOST foam sole makes the adidas UltraBOOST a silhouette worth putting the effort into revitalizing for new styles bound to appeal to various audiences. For its latest makeover, the UltraBOOST heads into the future by experimenting with elastic cords and adding techno green accents.
This new style, dubbed the UltraBOOST 20 Lab, consists of a bright white mesh knit base with black Three Stripes decals printed on the sides. For a secure fit as a tongueless model, a unique elastic cord lacing system is used, which sees neon “Signal Green” lace loops. A black cord that wraps around the sides and heel of the silhouette further amp up the security factor while also adding a space-age touch to the design. White leather overlays and translucent elements on the heel continue to deliver a premium and futuristic feel before having the base sit atop a heightened BOOST sole unit. Although the 20 Lab is definitely a shake-up compared to previous ULTRABOOST iterations, black Continental rubber underfoot finally introduces a sense of familiarity.
