The New Puma Suede Vintage “Made In Japan” Pays Homage To The Art Of Sashiko

The New Puma Suede Vintage “Made In Japan” Pays Homage To The Art Of Sashiko

Earlier this year, the classic Puma Suede took a trip to Japan and returned with a new “Made In Japan” offering—a premium take on a fan favorite consisting of signature Japanese craftsmanship and special attention to detail. The upgrades continue with two new “Made In Japan” propositions that reference the decorative stitches found in sashiko.

Available in “Intense Blue” and “Vaporous Grey,” the Puma Suede indulges in high-quality suede uppers and a shorter vamp compared to other non-“Made In Japan” releases. Furthermore, the tongue demonstrates a raw-edge design and the standard logos have been swapped out for metallic gold PUMA text. The most notable detail of both arrangements is the navy side stripes. These stripes exhibit a twill-like build paired with white patterned embroidery inspired by traditional Japanese sashiko—a form of needlework used to decorate or reinforce clothing. A classic white rubber sole unit finishes off both colorways for two new offerings that celebrate fine Japanese craftsmanship.

Enjoy official images of the Puma Suede Vintage below, which will be available at Puma.com and the listed retailers on September 19th with a price tag of $180.
