Though the Day of the Dead has long past, Nike is not quite through celebrating its traditions. Using the Air Max 90 as a canvas, the brand is further iterating on the SiEMPRE Familia collection in a way far less colorful than the Air Force 1 and the Air Jordan 1 Mid before it.
In comparison, the Tinker Hatfield designed silhouette makes a more ghoulish first impression. Skeletal motifs are embroidered across the shoe in white, accenting the toe with rib cages and the heel with both long and short bones alike. Additionally, the backside is patched with a jewel-eyed skull, one that further pays homage to the Mictlán’s many symbols. All is clad atop a faux fur assembly, whose black finish contrasts the scales of the green Swoosh and the dark burgundy that appears throughout across the velvet lining, ribbed molds, and outsole.
Finished with SiEMPRE Familia logo hits, the pair is currently scheduled to release in Mexico on November 17th. A US drop has not been confirmed, but expect updates here if anything changes.
In other news, official images of the adidas Yeezy 700 Faded Azure just surfaced.
