New Balance Brings A Pre-Worn Look To The 2002R Gore-Tex

Over the past few years the New Balance 2002R has continued to rival the industries top-tier lifestyle cushioning silhouettes with timeless design and a refusal to cease reinventing and reconstructing the model for the varying seasons it finds itself in. For its latest inclusion of Gore-Tex materials as Fall weather draws near, the Boston-based brand is outfitting the 2002R in a collection of pre-worn weatherized panels.

A majority of the sneakers real estate dawns the worn-out aesthetic through shadowy grey suede overlays featuring a deep blue tint and navy “GORE-TEX” branding gracing the mudguard. The remaining mesh construction renders the blue undertone as the mainstay in a sun-faded offering as dark copper accents provide seldom touches to the forefoots leather overlays, eyestays and tongue fastener finished in brushed suede. Underfoot, the murky palette resumes in a cloudy gray shading across the midsole as the white and midnight blue tread completes the eroded look.

For a closer look at the purposefully beaten-up 2002R “Magnet”, enjoy official images of the pair below while we anticipate further release details on the Gore-Tex covered model within the following weeks.
