Earlier this year, New Balance and Aime Leon Dore ushered in the return of the 650, the taller and sleeker version of the much-beloved 550. And to ring in the Fall season, the footwear brand is readying up the high-top silhouette’s first inline colorways, which are scheduled to release in just a few days.
Similar to ALD’s take on the shoe, the “White/Red” colorway — as well as its blue counterpart — leans aesthetically close to OG releases. This pair in particular, though, goes as far as to mirror one of the collaboration’s own, as red highlights the shoe’s key points here, from the “650” text emblazoned onto the forefoot to the “N” logos at the sides. The collar, sole unit, and tongue label are similarly-dressed, contrasting the blacked out details adjacent as well as the white smooth and perforated leathers used across the rest of the construction.
