While MJ had officially retired for good in the early 2000s, Jordan Brand remained well-represented throughout the aforementioned decade thanks to a handful of household names that rang true of buckets and dimes. From Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony’s signature lines to a wide range of Player Exclusives, the Beaverton brand is tapping the latter for a summertime release inspired by one of Mike Bibby’s Air Jordan 12 PEs.
Taking direct notes from the black and purple low-top pair that accompanied Bibby throughout his career with the Sacramento Kings, the high-top construction of His Airness’ 12th signature silhouette enjoys the same pitch-dark treatment at the tongue and heel while added golden metallic eyelets infuse a premium aesthetic. Encompassing a dominant majority of the pair’s real estate at the forefoot, a vibrant “Field Purple” further consumes the mudguard and tread underfoot.
Scheduled to release in full family sizing on August 19th, in the meantime enjoy previewed imagery of the Air Jordan 12 “Field Purple”.
In other news, the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Mambacita” is set to release next Monday, May 1st.
