Michael Le Aimé Leon Dore has something of a magic touch, popularizing one of New Balance’s most popular offerings of the last few years: the 550. And while not quite as well-received as its low-top sibling, the 650R, too, owes much to Teddy Santis, as the sneaker likely would have never hit the shelves had he not dug it out of the archive back in 2021.
In celebration of the Mulberry Classic tournament, which took place this past weekend, Aimé Leon Dore is ushering in three new colorways of the New Balance 650R. Each employs the same, minimal color blocking, with white tumbled leathers making up the brunt of the construction. Adjacent accents, such as the trims and select instances of branding, are then highlighted in either Black, Baby Blue, or Green. ALD’s signature Sonny Basketball logo, however, is instead clad in a light cream, leaving a very subtle impression on the heels of the entire trio.
