Gore-Tex on Air Jordans? Sign us up.
When this release was first reported back in February, it was projected to appear like the iconic ACG Air Mowabb’s original colorway. Considering both shoes launched in the same era, it seemed like a fitting crossover considering Jordan Brand has been heavily reliant on porting over iconic colorways from one to another. In this update by @zsneakerheadz, this Air Jordan 6 (a women’s exclusive) looks nothing like what was expected. Instead, the entire upper is flooded by the dark “Brown Kelp” hue, which we accept as a brown/green mix. Hits of gold and olive cover the rest of the AJ6’s upper.
An upgrade is indeed the protective Gore-Tex exterior, which enables these Jordans to be worn in inclement weather. The trademark logo is expected to appear on the heel, as suggested by the above mock-up.
As of now, a release date is expected for November 29th, 2023 with an MSRP of $250. While Gore-Tex on Air Jordans seems enticing, we expect these to receive a lukewarm reception upon its arrival – the realistic case with several Air Jordan releases lately.
In related news, the Air Jordan 6 “Yellow Ochre” is expected with Carmine-style color-blocking in 2024.
