Responsible for creating some of the most unique, most innovative sneakers the Swoosh has ever seen, Nike ISPA is soon to usher in one of their most sustainable creations to date: the Link Axis.
First introduced over an entire year ago, the Nike ISPA Link Axis — which plays on the same concepts as its sibling, the Nike ISPA Link — is a near-fully recyclable sneaker, which was designed with the intention of being disassembled. Debuting a few months shy from its original ETA, the shoe boasts 100% recycled Flyknit and TPU across its upper and tooling, respectively. And while the cage may use only a mere 20% recycled TPU, it’s a necessary evil to provide the construction better durability. Key to the model’s sustainability is the ease of its deconstruction: the shoe can easily come apart into four separate pieces, making it easier to recycle its contents.
After much anticipation, the Nike ISPA Link Axis is finally slated to debut overseas via atmos Tokyo on August 11th. While we’ve yet to hear word of its release stateside, this news gives us hope that one will be arriving shortly.
