Where To Buy The Air Jordan 11 “Bred Velvet”
The Air Jordan 11 “Bred Velvet” will be available on SNKRS and Jordan retailers beginning on November 11th, 2024. The women’s pair has an MSRP of $230, the PS sizes will be $100, and the TD size will be $85.
Since 2018, women’s Air Jordan 11s haven’t been major sell-outs, so while larger sizes could move quick, the smaller sizes could be more readily available.
A Breakdown Of The “Bred Velvet” Jordan 11
Jordan Brand has chosen to reintroduce the iconic “Bred” colorway of the Air Jordan 11 as a women’s release. Made famous by Michael Jordan throughout the 1996 season, this version of the Air Jordan 11 is noted for its black patent leather mudguard, black ballistic nylon upper, white midsole, embroidered red Jumpman, and translucent red rubber.
The “Bred Velvet” reimagines the shoes with alternate materials. Replacing the glossy patent leather is a soft-to-the-touch velvet throughout the entire upper. The Jumpman on the heel is a metallic piece replacing the original embroidered silhouette logo.
Despite the historic colorway, the reception to the Jordan 11 “Bred Velvet” has been rather lukewarm. OG Jordans reinterpreted with new materials and details haven’t quite struck the chord that the Jumpman thought it would. For example, the Air Jordan 1 “Royal Reimagined” is relatively an abject failure compared to the other pairs of the Reimagined series.
Jordan Brand’s Commitment To Women’s Footwear
The first-ever women’s exclusive Air Jordan 11 in mid-cut form came in November 2018. Prior to that Jordan Brand released women’s focused colorways, but in GS sizes. Every November, Jordan Brand released a new Air Jordan 11 colorway tailored to the taste of female sneakerheads. Due to the somewhat lackluster colorways and restricted sizing, these women’s Air Jordan 11s aren’t exactly remembered as in important part of Jordan collector culture.
