Jared Ebanks Evolving from a moodboard to magazines to its own label, Emily Oberg’s Sporty & Rich brand has pioneered a unique approach to design that stands far above just aesthetic purposes. Teaming up with adidas for a duo of collaborations over the past nine months, the LA-based banner now joins the 3-Stripes for a third installment between the two entities.
Initially teased in early July, the two brand’s second appearance in 2023 continues to rely on the Samba and Stan Smith – both of which have appeared in the latter two collaborative efforts. In contrast to its appearance in bright blue this past June, the adidas Samba extends a pair of burgundy and marigold-accented colorways. A dominant crisp white hue consumes the upper’s buttery leather construction while cream-colored laces, sanddrift-treated suede mudguards and a clad gum outsole inject a wave of neutral compliments throughout. In closing, each pair comes replete with pearled hangtag charms.
The third and final appearance within the upcoming pack harkens to Sporty & Rich’s inaugural composition from 2022 that saw the Stan Smith achieve a clad-canvas upper. Here, the summer-reminiscent tooling is stricken with a bright white tint while vibrant evergreen contrasts illuminate the heel tab, the tongue’s collaborative branding and the mid-foots embroidered trefoil insignia.
The latest Sporty & Rich x adidas collection is expected to release in the winter of 2023. In the meantime, each pair can be seen ahead in detailed imagery.
