Nike’s Air Force 1 “Year Of The Dragon” Unites East And West

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Year of the Dragon” brings East and West together.

Set to form part of a greater Nike Sportswear and Air Jordan collection, the Lunar New Year-ready pair features a number of details inspired by 2024’s zodiacal figure. Although the sneaker abandons the “Dusty Cactus” color scheme of other offerings, it enjoys a scale finish across the profile swooshes and Achilles’ Heel overlay. Iconic “Just Do It” messaging on the festive tongue label also commemorates the occasion, styling its “D” as a dragon. Cloud motifs also land throughout the “Year of the Dragon” Air Force 1, with the most concentrated effort appearing on the sockliners.

Elsewhere, the eye-catching lace dubrae brings a precious touch to the shoes and features a hologram of a dragon’s claw. A miniature swoosh on the suede quarter panel also mark a special edition, as the detail is typically reserved for higher-quality or limited Air Force 1s. Underfoot, sole units keep things simple with their off white color scheme. The uniform midsole matches the upper’s leather base layer, while the outsole introduces a semi-translucent finish into the mix. All together, the aforementioned components create a worthwhile celebration of the “Year of the Dragon,” an event also commemorated by the Nike Ja 1.

A firm nike.com launch date hasn’t been disclosed by the brand at the time of this writing, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy photos of the pair ahead. The special Air Force 1 is expected to retail for $125 USD.
