The New Balance 2002R Reappears In Shades Of Grey And Brown

The New Balance 20022R continues to surface in new styles, delivering ensembles for all types of preferences.

A once-failed performance running model, the silhouette has helped the Boston-based brand captivate audiences everywhere since returning with modifications in 2020. Over the last three years, the technical proposition has dressed up in countless looks, even launching popular makeovers like the “Refined Future” them (often referred to as “Protection Pack”). As the year winds down and New Balance‘s modern hit heads into 2024, the sneaker has emerged in a muted combination of grey, brown, and beige. While not an unfamiliar color palette to the model nor brand, the latest arrangement sees an experimental color-blocking, differing from many of the NB 2002R’s tonal or two-tone finishes. Mesh sets the stage for a series of suede swaths across the upper, which divvies up shades of grey and brown. Reflective accents also join the mix, nodding to the original NB 2002’s function-first blueprint.

Underfoot, the color story stays simple. Sole units borrowed from the New Balance 860v2 opt for a predominantly off white makeover. Cushioning, stability, and traction components, however, introduce contrasting hues that further contribute to the sneaker’s understated style.

Enjoy detailed photos of the pair ahead, as you wait for stateside newbalance.com launch details. The pair is currently available at select shops overseas for the equivalent of $140 USD.
